The Pin Cushion clinic site redesign

My role: UX & UI Designer

The issue & solution

The Pin Cushion approached us to create a mobile-first site redesign because her old site was dated and confusing to her clients. Our solution was a site that was easy to navigate, schedule appointments online, and easy for Julie and her staff to update.

Tools used: Squarespace, Sketch, Photoshop, Survey Monkey, Pen & Paper

The research and discovery:

We completed both qualitative and quantitative research to gain a better understanding of The Pin Cushion's needs and client base. We also completed a heuristic review of the old site along with a journey map and navigation for the new site.

The ideation and design:

We prototyped wireframes and a user workflow based on the research and current needs of the Pin Cushion. Thankfully, Squarespace has templates that are very similar to what we had in mind and considered to be a good design solution.

The testing:

We tested the Squarespace site multiple times before we launched, as there were a few glitches that needed to be ironed out such as email setup and links to the Pin Cushion scheduler, schedulicity.

Validation and implementation:

Julie, the owner of the Pin Cushion was thrilled with the site once it was launched. She noticed an increase in business, especially since so many of the client base schedules appointments online. The site also proved to be very easy for her staff to use and update.
